A steering column arrangement

A steering column arrangement (1) comprising: a fixed part (2); a movable part (7), which may slide with respect to the fixed part (2) to increase or decrease the length of the steering column; a steering column mounting arrangement (11) which is rotatably mounted with respect to the movable part (7) about a pivot axis; an elongate connection arrangement (18) connected at a first end thereof to the steering column mounting arrangement (11) at a point which is spaced apart from the pivot axis, so that the connection arrangement (18) moves in a linear manner with respect to the movable part (7) when the steering column mounting arrangement (11) rotates with respect to the movable part (7); and a clamping arrangement (27, 28) which is mounted on the movable part (7) and which is selectively activatable to apply a clamping force to the fixed part (2) and to a second end of the connection arrangement (18), to prevent sliding of the movable part (7) with respect to the fixed part (2), and also to prevent sliding of the connection arrangement (18) with respect to the movable part (7).
