METHODS AND APPARATUS OF COMMUNICATING MEASUREMENT INFORMATION ASSOCIATED WITH A USER EQUIPMENT IN A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION NETWORK ENVIRONMENT

The present invention provides a user equipment, a base station and methods of communicating measurement information associated with the user equipment in a wireless communication network environment. A radio link failure is detected between a user equipment and a first base station. The UE sends a connection re-establishment request message to re-establish a wireless connection with the first base station. The first base station sends a connection re-establishment response message in response to the connection re-establishment request message. The UE determines whether the wireless connection is successfully re-established between the UE and the first base station. If the wireless connection is not re-established, the UE sends a connection request message to a second base station and receives a connection setup message from the second base station. The UE performs a connection setup to establish a wireless connection between the UE and the second base station. The UE sends a connection setup complete message to the second base station, where the connection setup complete message includes an indication of availability of measurement information determined during the radio link failure. The second base station sends a request to the UE to transmit the measurement information. The UE transmits the measurement information to the second base station. The second base station may tune network coverage and radio link parameters based on the measurement information to prevent further radio link failures.
