ASSEMBLY OF A THIN SHEET AND OF A HOLLOW SECTION PIECE BY UNILATERAL INDUCTION SOLDERING, AND CORRESPONDING METHOD

Method of assembling two facing metal workpieces consisting of a thin sheet (2) and of a hollow body (1), of the type in which a plurality of pressed oblong impressions (4) intended to accept a slug of filler material (8) is provided on one of the two workpieces (1, 2), these impressions being arranged in a line of impressions (4), the workpieces (1, 2) that are to be assembled are brought to face one another and an induction heater is brought up on the same side of the thin sheet (2) and induction is used to create within said sheet (2) induced currents which, through a Joule effect, cause heat, this heat being imparted by conduction to the filler material (8) and to the hollow body (1) to allow the filler material (8) to melt and, having cooled, to join the two workpieces (1, 2) together, characterized in that the impressions (4) are set out on the thin sheet (2) with an alternating angle of inclination with respect to the line of impressions, this inclination advantageously being between 15° and 45°.
