Zusammenfassung:	The adjustable shelf (1) has a support plate (2), such as working plate, table top or desk, and an overflow protection device, where an upper side of the support plate has a central area (5) for placing containers, where the overflow protection device is arranged around the central area. The overflow protection device is formed in a partial section in the form of a hydrophobic layer (12) on the support layer. The overflow protection device has a frame element in another partial section. The latter partial section is connected to the former partial section.
