Zusammenfassung:Production of a ceramic multilayer component comprises sintering a base body (1) containing unsintered ceramic (2) and a metal-containing inner electrode (3) in a sintering atmosphere. The sintering atmosphere contains a sintering aid containing a metal having a redox potential as large as the redox potential of the metal contained in the inner electrode. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) ceramic multilayer component produced in the above process; and (2) holding device used during sintering of the ceramic multilayer component. Preferred Features: The sintering aid is copper and the inner electrodes contain copper. The sintering atmosphere contains oxygen, preferably an equilibrium of hydrogen and water vapor. The ceramic has a piezoelectric effect in the sintered state. The ceramic is lead-zirconate-titanate.
