Zusammenfassung:	The engine has a crank shaft (1) comprising a crankshaft offset (2) and hollow shaft sections (3) arranged at a distance to each other along a longitudinal axis (1a) of the crank shaft. The crankshaft offset has crank cheeks (2b) arranged at a distance to each other and connected by connecting rod pins (2a). The shaft sections comprise a central cylindrical recess (5a). A side surface (4) is turned towards one of the shaft sections, and runs perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, where breadth of a band (4a) of the side surface measured in a radial direction is varied along the circumference. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine.
