The tread (10) comprises a tread base layer (20), a first tread cap layer (21) radially outside of the tread base layer (20), and a second tread cap layer (22) radially outside of the tread base layer (20). The second tread cap layer (22) has a portion radially outside of a portion of the first tread cap layer (21) and a portion axially adjacent to a portion of the first tread cap layer (21). Also, a pneumatic tire (1) comprising such a tread (10) and a method of manufacturing such a tread (10) is disclosed.
