Zusammenfassung:The source has a source element (2) designed as a fiber made from silicon carbide and coated with a metallic coating (3), where the source element is heated over the metallic coating such that the source element temporarily emits infrared radiation. The fiber has a diameter of preferably between 50 to 150 micrometers, and the coating has a thickness between 300 and 2000 nanometers. The source element is arranged on a substrate above a recess. End areas of the source element are fastened to a holding element that is made from electrically conducting material. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a radiation source.
