Pressure wave device for treating the human or animal body

The pressure wave device comprises a pressure wave source having a cavity, and a radiating surface (34) for the generated pressure waves, which is formed around the cavity, to outwardly radiate the pressure waves, and a reflector (36) for reflecting and directing the emitted pressure waves into the human or animal body. A pressure wave source such as a ballistic shock wave source, arranged at least partially in the cavity of the other pressure wave source, radiates pressure waves in relation to the cavity in longitudinal direction.
