Zusammenfassung:A DC arc fault device and methodology includes acquiring a signal (30) in response to a DC current. A software module (22) identifies a parallel DC arc event when a difference between a maximum signal value (32) and a minimum signal value (34) exceeds a threshold. The software module (22) also determines average signal values (V 1 , V 2 ) over multiple selected time periods (Y, W) and identifies a series DC arc event in response to the difference (Z) between the average values (V 1 , V 2 ) exceeding a predetermined threshold.
