Zusammenfassung:	A printing blanket unit for a printing blanket cylinder of a rotary printing press includes a printing blanket defining a transverse direction and having two mutually parallel side edges extending in the transverse direction. One of the side edges defines a leading side edge and the other one of the side edges defines a trailing side edge referred to the rotation of the printing blanket cylinder. The printing blanket has a top side and defines a longitudinal direction running perpendicular to the transverse direction. The top side of the printing blanket has a groove therein running in the longitudinal direction of the printing blanket.
