Zusammenfassung:	The apparatus has a motor (5) driving a rotatable exchangeable work tool (13), and a control unit (15) controlling operation of the motor. A detecting unit (16) is connected to the control unit and provided with a read unit (21) i.e. radio-frequency identification transmitting and receiving unit, to detect an identifier of the work tool that is mounted on the apparatus. The detecting unit evaluates an identifier to provide a release signal in dependence upon detection of the identifier, and the control unit sets one of two operating modes in dependence upon the release signal.
