Zusammenfassung:	The element (2) has a covering element (10), and a holding element (12) holding the covering element at a printed circuit board (4) and/or a carrier element of a lamp, where the protection element is arranged at the carrier element of the lamp together with the circuit board and an electronic component (6). The covering element includes edges that are formed by bends and run parallel to each other. The covering element is made from electrically insulated material i.e. polycarbonate, and the holding element is designed as a locking element and made from plastic. An independent claim is also included for a lamp comprising a protection element.
