Zusammenfassung:	A method and a device for conveying traffic are provided, wherein a master node is connected to a first slave node and to a second slave node; wherein the first slave node and the second slave node comprise a connection; wherein traffic is conveyed between the master node and the first slave node; and wherein in case of a fault condition the traffic is conveyed between the master node and the first slave node via the second slave node and the direct connection between the first slave node and the second slave node. Furthermore, a communication system is suggested comprising said device.
