Zusammenfassung:	In accordance with one embodiment, a system (10) includes a posimetric pump (18) configured to increase pressure of a feedstock (12) to provide a pressurized feedstock (12). The system (10) also includes a fixed bed gasifier (52) configured to gasify the pressurized feedstock (12), wherein the fixed bed gasifier (52) comprises an enclosure (80), a feedstock inlet (82) configured to receive the pressurized feedstock (12), at least one agent inlet (84) configured to receive at least one gasification agent (55), a syngas outlet (86) configured to output a syngas (106), an ash outlet (88) configured to output ash (100), and a fixed bed (90) configured to support the pressurized feedstock (12) while allowing flow of the at least one gasification agent (55) through the pressurized feedstock (12).
