Zusammenfassung:	The device (10) has a cable drive (3) for driving a cable, and a lug setter (4) for gripping an end of the cable and for setting a cable lug (2.1). The cable lug is formed to desired size during displacement of the cable. A pull-out gripper (20) covers the cable of the cable lug, and is moved relative to the lug setter after covering the cable, so that the cable lug is clamped in a longitudinal direction. A gripping unit (21) of the pull-out gripper is provided with a sensor device, which detects twist in the cable lug and/or a direction of twist and/or twist-free state of the lug. An independent claim is also included for a method for forming a cable lug of a cable section.
