Disclosed is an air conditioner. The air conditioner includes an indoor unit having an air inlet for sucking indoor air and an air outlet for discharging conditioned air, and a harmful insect repeller attached to the indoor unit to repel harmful insects, wherein said harmful insect repeller includes a harmful insect type detection unit for detecting the type of harmful insect, a harmful insect repeller control unit for outputting a pulse signal for generating a specific frequency for repelling the relevant harmful insect in accordance with the type of harmful insect detected by the harmful insect type detection unit, an amplifying unit for amplifying the level of the pulse signal, and a plurality of output units for converting the level-amplified pulse signal into acoustic sound signals and outputting the converted signal. Thereby, the harmful insects can be effectively repelled.
