Zusammenfassung:	A method for inhibiting the formation, deposition and adherence of calcium salt scale to metallic and other surfaces in the equipment, vessels and/or piping of a chemical pulp process facility comprising adding an effective scale inhibiting amount of a composition to the alkaline aqueous mixture in the digester of said chemical pulping process. Said composition consists of at least one phosphonate component (I) and at least one component (II) consisting of at least one carboxylated fructan compound.
