Zusammenfassung:	An actuator includes: a housing; a plurality of electromagnets positioned around an outer periphery of said housing so that said plurality of electromagnets define at least one generally helical path; a rotor head mounted for rotation and translation within said housing; a magnet mounted to said rotor head; an output shaft attached to said rotor head; a spring having a first end and a second end, the first end of said spring being attached to said rotor head, the second end of said spring being selectively engageable and disengagable with said housing; and a control system operatively associated with said plurality of electromagnets, said control system selectively activating said electromagnets to cause said rotor head to move relative to said housing.
