A distribution manifold assembly (44) for an agricultural seeder (10), the manifold assembly (44) comprising a distribution manifold (50) and a lid (60), an inlet opening (52) defining an axis (54), an access opening (56) opposite the inlet (52) and a plurality of radially extending outlet ports (62). The lid (60) for the access opening (56) comprises a mounting member (74) adapted to couple the lid (60) to the manifold (50) to close the access opening (56). The lid (60) further comprises a cone (72) coupled to the mounting member (74) and extending axially toward the inlet opening (52) of the manifold (50) when the lid (60) is coupled to the manifold (50); and a single piece retainer (110) adapted to secure the cone (72) to the mounting member (74) without additional fasteners.
