PIPETTES

An actuating system (300) is provided for actuathg a plurality of pipettes (1) comprising a bellows portion (13). The actuating system comprises weans (360) for receiving the plurality of pipettes and an actuator (320). The receiving means (360) and the actuator (160) are reciprocable relative to one another to compress or decompress the bellows portions of pipettes received hn the receiving means in use. The receiving means (360) comprises a plurality of pipette receiving parts in the form of clips (140) each configured to receive a respective pipette having a bellows piece (5) and a dispensing piece (3), wherein each pipette receiving part (140) is arranged to cooperate with the dispensing piece (3) of a respective pipette to mount the pipette to the actuating system. The actuating system further comprises locating means in the form of a guide plate (160) to help maintain alignment of the pipette in use, the locating means cooperating with the bellows piece (5) of each pipette.
