Zusammenfassung:	A method for manufacturing a cable and a cable assembly includes providing particulate matter within a tube extruded about an optical fiber (22). The particles may be accelerated so that as they strike the tube they mechanically attach to the tube. Powder particles are accelerated in a motive gas through a nozzle, along the process direction (12), to an interior of an extrusion cone where the powder particles have sufficient momentum to collide with the interior of the extrusion cone. The acceleration is such that at least a portion of the powder particles becomes mechanically attached to the extrusion cone. The tube can be included with other such tubes to form a fiber optic cable.
