Protective device and cable termination unit

The present invention, which finds preferably application in the field of telecommunications technology, relates to a protective device for a cable connector part and to a cable termination unit provided with the protective device. The protective device comprises a protective cover (1) adapted to be movable between a first position for protecting the cable connector part (10) and a second position for accessibly exposing at least a connectable end portion (11) of the cable connector part (10), wherein the protective cover (1) is adapted to be releasably securable at least in the first position. The protective device is characterized by a stationary support (3, 4) comprising a first support portion (3) for supporting the cable connector part (10) and a second support portion (4) for slidably supporting the protective cover (1) between the first position and the second position, and by positive locking means (5, 7; 6, 8) effective between the protective cover (1) and the stationary support (3, 4) to secure the protective cover (1) in the first position.
