Zusammenfassung:The invention includes systems and methods for providing optical fiber coatings to reduce microbend loses. According to an example embodiment of the invention, an optical fiber is provided with properties that reduce microbend losses and polarization mode dispersion (PMD). The optical fiber (100) is characterised by a core region (102), a cladding region (104) surrounding the core region (102), a primary layer (106) surrounding the cladding region (104), wherein the primary layer (106) adheres to the cladding region (104) with a minimum pullout adhesion of 6N/cm, and a secondary layer (108) surrounding the primary layer (106), wherein the secondary layer (108) has an in-situ modulus (ISM) of about 700 MPa to about 1200 MPa at room temperature.
