Zusammenfassung:	Oral- and dental care- and -cleaning agent (I) comprises (a) at least one alkylpyridinium chloride and/or -bromide and (b) at least one surfactant comprising an ester compound (II) in a carrier. Oral- and dental care- and -cleaning agent (I) comprises (a) at least an alkylpyridinium chloride and/or -bromide and (b) at least a surfactant comprising an ester compound of formula (R-N +>((CH 2) nCOO ->M1 +>)(CH 2) mCOO ->M2 +>) (II) in a carrier. R : linear 8-24C-alkyl; M1, M2 : H, Na or K; and n, m : 1 or 2. An independent claim is included for a non-therapeutic method for preventing and treating caries, combating halitosis and/or for treating gingivitis or periodontitis comprising applying (I) in the form of mouthwash in the oral cavity and leaving for a period of at least 10 (preferably at least 45) seconds. ACTIVITY : Antibacterial; Antiinflammatory. MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
