Zusammenfassung:	For providing a power conversion apparatus constituting, with a simple configuration, a direct matrix converter from single-phase AC input to multi-phase AC output without provision of a rectification means, a waveform generating part (102) is configured by connection of a power supply line of a single-phase AC power supply (100) and an output line to a multi-phase AC load (101) through a bidirectional switching device, and a waveform generation controlling part (104) drive-controls the bidirectional switching device based upon power supply phase information from a power supply phase detecting part (103), and also PWM-controls the bidirectional switching device based upon a previously set command signal.
