The invention relates to a lock device with manual and remote control for movable or portable containers, such as, for example, cases, rucksacks, etc. A container of this type has a container part and a cover. At least one latching device (200) is attached to the cover and is provided with a latching spindle (205) to which one or more latches (201) are fastened. Each latching device is faced by a retaining device (300) which is attached to the container part and has a longitudinally displaceable displacement strip on which pins (301) are fastened in a row to webs (305), said pins being enclosed in the closed initial position by the lug cutouts present in the latching lugs. For the opening, each displacement strip can be moved by hand, by rotation of the lock (500) in the direction of the fourth arrow (4), to such an extent in the direction of the fifth arrow (5) that the pins (301) are released from the latches. Said opening operation can also be carried out by remote control by, for example, an electromagnet (409) being switched on by means of an electric switching device by the latter receiving coded signals by remote control, for example from a mobile phone.
