Zusammenfassung:	The method involves transporting a laundry load i.e. laundry cake (10), from a rear end (14) of a conveyer (11) to a splitting device (12). The laundry load is split from a front side (15) of the laundry load by the splitting device that is rotatably driven around a horizontal rotation axis (21), where the axis is formed transverse to a transportation direction (13) of the conveyer. The front side of the laundry load is viewed in the transportation direction of the conveyer. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for splitting a laundry load from pressed laundry pieces (2) a method for separating laundry pieces from a laundry load.
