Zusammenfassung: | Isolating biomolecules from fixed biological sample, which is embedded in paraffin, comprises (a) contacting the sample with a water-immiscible solvent and dissolving the paraffin in the solvent to form a liquid organic phase, (b) contacting the sample with an aqueous solution of at least one lytic substance and/or with water and the lytic substance to form an aqueous phase, where a two-phase mixture is formed by the steps (a) and (b), and (c) isolating the biomolecules from the aqueous phase. An independent claim is included for a kit, for the isolation of biomolecules from a fixed biological sample that is embedded in paraffin, comprising the water-immiscible solvent, and the lytic substance and/or the aqueous solution of lytic substance. |
