Zusammenfassung:Twenty five nucleic acid sequences (A) involved in bacterial biosynthesis, especially in Bacillus licheniformisDSM 13, of isovaleric, 2-methylbutyric, isobutyric and propylic acids, butanol, cadaverine and/or putrescine are new. Independent claims are also included for: (1) gene products (B) of (A); (2) fermentation of a microorganism in which at least one gene, involved in a metabolic pathway to (i) isovaleric acid, (ii) 2-methylbutyric and/or isobutyric acid, (iii) butanol and/or butyric acid, (iv) propylic acid or (v) cadaverine and/or putrescine, has been inactivated; (3) use of specific genes for functional inactivation of metabolic pathways for synthesis of (i)-(v) above; (4) microorganisms in which at least one (A) has been inactivated; and (5) fermentations of microorganisms of (4).
