AIRBAG MOUNTING IN AN AIRBAG MODULE

The invention relates to a solution for mounting the airbag in an airbag module. The airbag module is made of a housing (1) for receiving a fillable airbag and a gas generator (19) and of a retaining ring (2) for fixing the airbag in the housing (1). The housing (1) comprises a discharge opening (3) for the explosively deploying airbag when the airbag is triggered. In a housing segment (4) encompassing said discharge opening (3), the housing (1) is designed at least partially double-walled. The retaining ring (2) enfolded by the airbag is inserted in an intermediate space (7) between an inner contour (5) and an outer contour (6) of said housing segment for fixing the airbag, and latched on the housing (1) by means of a plurality of latching elements (9) disposed on the circumference thereof. The latch elements (9) extend nearly perpendicular to the opening (8) of the retaining ring (2) and each have a segment acting as a hook (10), aligned according to the invention in the direction of the housing wall (11) and engaging under a protrusion (14') facing outward on the inner contour (6) of the housing segment (4).
