Zusammenfassung:	The hob has a control unit (12) for synchronously operating induction heaters (10a, 10b) to heat a flexibly definable heating zone. A measurement arrangement (16) measures heating powers (P, Pi) generated by the induction heaters, and measures a sum of the heating powers of the induction heaters. The control unit uses the sum of the heating powers as a control variable for regulating the heating power. The arrangement has a current sensor (18) for measuring sum of current flowing through the induction heaters. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating an induction hob.
