Zusammenfassung:	Disclosed is a device for monitoring the operational state of supply and/or signal lines of an alarm system, comprising a measuring instrument which is designed and/or connected and/or can be connected so as to generate a measurement signal in accordance with the operational state in the supply and/or signal lines, and an evaluation unit that is designed to evaluate the measurement signal and output a monitoring signal on the basis of the evaluation. A controllable signal source is provided which is designed and/or connected and/or can be connected so as to inject a test signal into the supply and/or signal lines. The measurement signal encompasses the system response of the supply and/or signal lines to the test signal.
