Zusammenfassung:	The method involves displaying a push button (5) for changing setting parameters e.g. target temperature, on a display surface (4). The parameters are changed by wiping gestures (W1) executed on or before the display surface, where the wiping gestures are executed one after another in or before a region occupied on the display surface or in or before a region outside the region occupied on the display surface. The parameters are changed depending on a movement direction and/or movement speed during execution of the gestures, where the parameters are assigned to numerical or logical value. An independent claim is also included for a device for operating a vehicle device.
