Zusammenfassung:	The method involves receiving a device description i.e. XML file, of a measuring apparatus (103), where the device description includes a variable that is being related to a storage cell of the apparatus. A target field bus protocol is selected from a set field bus protocols. A block is formed from the variable, where the block includes a maximum block size that corresponds to a smallest maximum block size of two of the field bus protocols. The block is provided as another device description of the apparatus in the target field bus protocol. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer-readable storage medium comprising a set of instructions for generating a device description for a measuring apparatus in a target field bus protocol (2) a device for generating a device description for a measuring apparatus comprising a receiving device (3) a measuring sensor comprising an arrangement.
