Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a method for welding at least two plastic pipes (10, 11) or compound pipes together using a tubular sleeve body (12) which covers the plastic pipes to be connected, and a heating device (17) for heating at least sections of contact surfaces on the inner periphery of the sleeve body and/or on the outer periphery of the plastic pipes to establish a welded bond in the region of the contact surfaces, the ends (22) of the plastic pipes being sealed as well in a pressure -tight manner. For this purpose, the sleeve body (12) has at least one stop (16) on its interior, which stop projects inward and the radially projecting end in relation to the inner peripheral surface of the sleeve body corresponds approximately to the wall thickness of the pipe (10, 11) in the region of the end (22) to be sealed. Heating elements (18) arranged in the region of the stop (16) allow the specific introduction of heat in this region and the ends of the pipes to be welded with the stop.
