Device and method for adjusting bandwidth in a telecommunications network and accompanying computer program product

The device has an analyzing unit for performing a bandwidth-analysis of a receiving signal and generating subscriber-side bandwidth information. A bandwidth limiting unit generates the bandwidth of the signal depending on the bandwidth information. A linking unit links the bandwidth information with administration side bandwidth information for generating the linked bandwidth information. The bandwidth limiting unit is controlled based on the linked bandwidth information, and an inserting unit inserts the administration side bandwidth information in the signal. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for adjusting a bandwidth in a telecommunication network (2) a computer-programming product with program code stored on a machine readable carrier for executing a method for adjusting bandwidth in a telecommunication network.
