Zusammenfassung:The invention provides for an optical apparatus for use in spectroscopy for analyzing samples. The apparatus comprises a hyper-hemisphere (100), including a substantially planar surface (102), and a cell, disposed proximate to the substantially planar surface of the hyper-hemisphere (100). Light passing through the hyper-hemisphere is focused aplanatically on the cell. Preferably, the cell is surrounded by an index matched liquid.
