Zusammenfassung:	The device (1) has a printing plate magazine (13) provided with storage compartments (15). A feeding device (31) transports printing plates from an inlet end (5) to an outlet end (7) along rectilinear transport direction (9) by the feeding device. The feeding device is arranged in front of the magazine. The feeding device and magazine are arranged between the ends. A lifting device vertically moves the magazine so that the compartments are selectively moved in a transport plane. The lifting device is formed by a drive motor (19), a drive shaft (21) and a linear drive unit (23).
