Zusammenfassung:	Jet black thermoplastic compositions are obtained when a carbon black having particular properties is blended with a particular poly(arylene ether) or polycarbonate resin system. Failure to observe similar color properties with other resin systems or other carbon black types indicates a synergy between the carbon black type and the two resin types. Methods of preparing the compositions and articles comprising the compositions are described.
