Zusammenfassung:	The support (5) has fingers (8) inwards projecting from a pan support frame (7). Multi-stepped support surfaces (10) are formed at upper sides of the fingers so that inner sections (10b) of one of the support surfaces are placed higher than outer sections (10a) of the support surface. The inner sections are aligned in a radial direction to a center point of a gas hob having a cover plate made of glass ceramic or hard glass. A non-stepped support surface of another finger (8a) is arranged in a level of the outer sections of the support surfaces of the former fingers (8). An independent claim is also included for a gas hob having a pan support.
