Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to a metal/air cell having an anode can and a cathode can. The anode can has an open end, an opposing closed end, and integral side wall (263) therebetween, and includes an anode mixture comprising zinc particles and aqueous alkaline electrolyte. The cathode can has an open end, an opposing closed end, and integral side wall therebetween, the closed end having at least one air hole. Within the cathode can, a cathode is provided. An electrolyte permeable separator is provided between the cathode and the anode mixture, while an electrical insulator seal material is provided between the anode can and the cathode can. The open end of the anode can resides within the open end of the cathode can with a portion of the cathode can side wall overlapping a portion of the anode can side wall with insulating seal material in between. The insulator seal takes the form of an insulator seal ring having a plurality of protrusions emanating from an inside surface of an insulator ring side wall of the insulator seal ring, the protrusions facing the anode can side wall.
