METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SELECTING DESIGNATIONS FROM AT LEAST ONE PREDETERMINED WORD POOL

The invention relates to a method and a device for selecting designations from at least one predetermined word pool. A method according to the invention comprises the following steps: entering alphanumeric characters in a character entry mode via an input unit (20), said input unit (20) comprising a plurality of input fields (21, 22, 23,...), wherein a plurality of alphanumeric characters is assigned to at least some of the input fields (21, 22, 23,...); changing from the character entry mode to a selection mode when a predetermined condition is fulfilled, wherein a list of candidates comprising one or more candidates from the predetermined word pool is presented in the selection mode as a function of the sequence of characters already entered; and selection of a candidate from the candidate list.
