Zusammenfassung:	The adapter (22) has aligning units cooperating with each other and provided at the changing adapter and an industrial truck (12). The aligning units align the adapter in a predetermined position for battery change operation relative to the industrial truck. A coupling device couples the changing adapter with the industrial truck during the battery change operation. The coupling device is designed such that the coupling produces a base for the truck and is detachable during lowering of the adapter, where the base is supported during lifting of the adapter relative to a battery block (14). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a battery changing system (2) a method for inserting or removing a battery block into and from a battery changing system.
