Zusammenfassung:	The object of the present invention is to provide a vehicle drive assist apparatus with high convenience in which torque-up is performed only if there is an instruction from the driver. The present invention is characterized by a vehicle drive assist apparatus (10) for assisting in driving a vehicle by varying a drive torque of wheels, comprising torque-up means (36, 38) for increasing the drive torque; and switching means (12) for switching, in accordance with an input from a vehicle occupant, a status of control between a first status in which the torque-up means is operational and a second status in which the torque-up means is not operational.
