Zusammenfassung:	A method of manufacturing a brush seal assembly (48) is disclosed. The method includes circumferentially arranging bristles (60) about an axis (A). A plate (62) is arranged adjacent to the bristles (60). Unwelded ends (64) of the bristles (60) are aligned with a periphery (66) of the plate (62) to provide a flush surface (68) across the plate (62) and bristles (60). The unwelded ends (64) are laser welded to the periphery (66) at the flush surface (68) to provide a unitary subassembly.
