The seat belt system has a seat belt (4) that is positioned on a load-bearing assembly of the protection system at two belt points (31, 32). The belt points are arranged on an adjustable assembly (3) of the protection system such that the position of the belt points is readjusted by adjusting the position of the adjustable assembly, where the assembly is adjustable along an adjustment path (L).
