Zusammenfassung:	The method involves controlling an electric compressor (2) by control electronics (10). The compressor is actuated by the electronics for increasing an inflow air pressure in a suction pipe (12) when the performance is to be increased by an electric motor (5). Electric energy is obtained by a recovery device (15) when the vehicle is braked, and/or a generator is driven by an internal combustion engine (9) for loading a high power battery (16) of the vehicle with the recovered energy, when the complete performance of the engine is not retrieved. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for operating a vehicle (2) a device for increasing efficiency of a drive of a vehicle with a compressor device. Vorrichtung (100) mit einem Kompressor (2) zur Erhöhung der Effizienz eines Antriebs eines Fahrzeuges. Bei dem Kompressor (2) handelt es sich um einen von einem Verbrennungsmotor (9) des Antriebs mechanisch unabhängigen elektrischen Kompressor (2) mit einem elektrischen Antrieb (5). Der Kompressor (2) weist einen Luftkanal (4) und einen Frischlufteintritt (1), sowie eine Regelelektronik (10) auf. Weiterhin ist eine Rückgewinnungsvorrichtung (15) zum Rückgewinnen von elektrischer Energie beim Bremsen des Fahrzeuges und zum Laden einer Hochleistungsbatterie (16) des Fahrzeuges mit dieser Energie vorgesehen.
