Zusammenfassung:	A tyre building drum, wherein a spindle has an axis, and a first and second flange coaxial with the axis and movable axially with respect to each other to support and shape a tyre carcass, and is fitted to and projects from a drive unit for rotating the first and second flange about the axis, and for varying a distance between the first and second flange; the first flange being fixed to the free end of an end portion of a drive shaft of the drive unit to rotate about the axis with the drive shaft; and the second flange being fitted in axially sliding, angularly fixed manner to the end portion of the drive shaft.
