According to a method for generating a single carrier FDMA radio signal (S') for transmission by a sending radio station of a radio communication system, where in for transmission of the radio signal (S') a transmission band with a transmission bandwidth TB is used. The transmission band consists of N sub carriers on which data symbols can be mapped. A mapping unit (11') maps data symbols on sub carriers in a baseband.
